Competition is a major and fun part of the barbershop world that helps keep us focused on raising the bar of performing excellence. We come together in a spirit of lighthearted contest, to see who's really got top form. We root for each other, cheer each other on, and once the medals have been handed out, we sing and party into the night!
Every year in May City of Lakes Chorus participates in our regional contest where choruses and quartets come together to sing and compete. There are a number of judging categories, and the groups bring complete and entertaining packages. This year we will be in Winnipeg, Canada. If you are anywhere near Winnipeg in the spring, please come be a part of the fun!
In the fall, the winners of all regional contests -- and a few "wildcards" -- gather together at International competition. The 2010 International competition will be held in Seattle, WA, October 19-23. You can view the complete contest on a live webcast on the Sweet Adelines International website. This is the ultimate female barbershop competition -- not to be missed!
